If every year were
to be likened to a journey of twelve significant steps,
then we’re about to
take our second noteworthy step.
If every New
Year were to be likened to a country being visited for the first time,
then it
is wisdom to cooperate with our Tour Guide seeing we don’t really know our way
around.
3 Can two walk
together, unless they are agreed?
(Amos 3:3)
We may go far in
the achievement of our resolutions and goals with grit,
but we will surely go
farther with grace.
There is a
prepared place and space for a people who will go at His pace in this race.
Grace
ensures we don’t lose face.
28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and
you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me
and work with me—watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I
won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you’ll
learn to live freely and lightly.”

23 O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself;
it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.
(Jeremiah 10:23)
The journey is
more fun when you’re in good company.
13 However, when
He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;
for He
will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak;
and
He will tell you things to come.
(John 16:13)
25 If we live in
the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
(Galatians 5:25)
When both legs
cooperate, walking is smooth.
May this month
be a SIGNIFICANT WITNESS to the smoothness of your journey through 2016.
