I
was in Warri ministering when my friend Micah Stampley shared this amazing story.
He said after a TBN recording, a pastor
friend of his, told him about his time with the FBI. He said while he worked
there, they had this small device used to track down most wanted criminals.
They would identify spots or rooms the criminals had previously met to discuss,
and put the device on. This device could record/call-up conversations from as
far back as 10 years. YES! 10 years before!
Why?
Because sound waves never die!
Beloved,
it’s no wonder Jesus is called the WORD. Words are powerful. Jesus said:
…the
words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 6:63 (KJV)
Our
words are not just sounds. They are spiritual and living entities.
What
are you speaking? Life or death? Remember the power of life and death are in
the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21)
Can
we be more deliberate with our words? Everything we are standing, walking and
living on, was Word-created. Words are powerful, God's word is even more
powerful.
10
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from
evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
1 Peter 3:10
12
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Psalm 34:12-13
This
month God laid the word MARVELLOUS in my heart. And one thing I've learnt to do
is not just speak Rhema words forth, but also see them. I want to be immersed
in them until they become a living reality.
What are you speaking?
If you don’t
like what you are seeing, perhaps it’s time to change what you are speaking.
On
the other hand, this explains why words also hurt a lot. Hence we must be
careful about what we say and speak to people.
