THE POWER TO GET WEALTH | PART ONE | APOSTLE JOSHUA SELMAN | SERMON NOTES
Proverbs 22:2 - The
earth is the platform of meeting. Men gravitate into these dimensions.
Proverbs 22:7 - Rich
anyone will rule over poor anyone. There is a relationship between wealth and
dominion
Psalm 35:27 - God
has delight in our prosperity.
Genesis 17:6, 2nd
Corinthians 8:9
Ecclesiastes 9:13-16 - Poverty drowns your voice
- Pain can make you come to yourself. Many people don’t
pay attention to their finances because someone is paying the price for their
ignorance.
- If you are comfortable with poverty and ignorance,
you are not the only person to suffer it because everyone is connected to at
least four people.
- Financial ignorance will stop you from excelling
in a world driven by economy.
- Many people died before their time because of
poverty.
- The limitation that lack places on you to achieving
your kingdom purpose should fuel a correct desire to be blessed.
- Many people have been relocated out of the will
of God because of the pursuit of money.
- If there are only a few people blessed in the
kingdom, they become the object of attack by the enemy.
- If you are a witness, there must be evidence.
Why does God want us to prosper?
1. He desires us to live a comfortable life.
There are four levels of living; economically speaking. (refers to you)
a.
Survival: poverty, lack and insufficiency
b.
Comfort: needs met without options
c.
Luxury: Godliness with contentment is great
gain.
d.
Extravagance: You are losing the consciousness
of your stewardship.
2. So that we can provide financial resources
for Kingdom advance. Motivated for love for Jesus. (refers to Church)
3. So that we can reveal the love and compassion
of Jesus to a dying world in a practical and definite way. You can preach
through love. A portion of your resources should go to blessing people without
any bias for religion or whatever kind of prejudice. Extend the love of Jesus
to people and allow the love to be a preacher. (refers to the world)
- Money itself does not bring satisfaction and
fulfillment unless you know it has helped you to achieve the three points above.
- From a standpoint of assignment, Money does two
things:
a.
Redeem time: Isaiah 38. Time is really what you
have. Getting somewhere faster is actually redeeming time.
b.
Efficiency: work better. It is your
responsibility to keep your body alive and strong so that you can serve the
purposes of God hence the need for efficiency.
- If you do not understand the purpose of money,
Satan will give you another reason.
- By saying “redeem the time”, the Bible is saying
“Be Wealthy”
Three foundational truths to have at the back of
your mind:
a. All Blessings come from God and belong to God: James
1:17 – if you see anything good as a system of advantage, it comes from above. In
the Kingdom, owners are rebels. We are stewards. It’s not your money, it is
His. The ability to get wealth comes from God. No matter how blessed you are, never
be ashamed to go on your knees in honor of the One that gave you. Everything God
gives to you belongs to Him. Owners carry a burden you are not designed to
bear. When God becomes owner, He is also Abba: defender & protector.
b. All Blessings come from God through men to men: this
is why you need to honor people. There are gatekeepers. Every currency is on
earth and in somebody’s account. Whether God or Satan, men are channels of
delivery. Luke 6:38 – whatever you give shall be given. It’s men that are the
conduits. Men really matter.
c. Wealth and abundance in the Kingdom is not an
achievement; it is a trust: Deut. 8:17-18 money is a cleaner that wipes
memories – don’t let it wipe the wrong ones. Ecclesiastes 9:11. Psalm 127:1-2:
the moment you see your wealth as your achievement, you have lost the support
of God. 1 Cor. 4:1-2:
Prosperity means to do well. There are 5 levels
of prosperity.
1. Spiritual Prosperity: being born again, filled
with the Holy Spirit, learning the ways of God and Loving Jesus with all your
heart.
2. Mental Prosperity: to be developed, outsource
superior belief systems about God, life, etc aligned with the Scripture. You can’t
rise beyond the frame of your mind. When your belief system is faulty, almost
nothing can bless you. Everything around you is a report card that tells us the
health of your mindset or otherwise. If you want to be global in your approach,
you have to find a way to divorce yourself from unhealthy beliefs via culture,
negative experiences etc. Psalm 78:41. Israel limited God.
3. Bodily Prosperity: Health and wellbeing. Keep this
body as long as possible so you can fulfill the purposes of God. The leaves are
for the healing of the nations.
4. Financial Prosperity: to totally conquer poverty,
lack and the effects that come with them. There is timing to prosperity; when
money comes too late, it can destroy.
5. Relational Prosperity: do not neglect relationships
in search for money. Money is only valuable because there are men on the other
side to receive it. It’s relationship that will take you to either heaven or hell.
Everything money can buy, relationships can buy it too.
THE LAWS OF
KINGDOM WEALTH AND ABUNDANCE
Failure and
wealth in the kingdom are predictable.
The spiritual
laws of abundance work in hand with the physical laws of abundance.
Psalm 112:1-3, 1
Timothy 6:10: every evil desire can be strengthened with the availability
of money.
1. The Law of Absolute Surrender: Job 22:21-26 (vs
5. when you prosper, you will have enemies). Proverbs 23:26: until God vets
you, you are not ready to do business with God. 2 Cor. 8:5. Never be ashamed of
surrendering everything to Him. God is still looking for treasurers. Wealthy people
that still love God in the kingdom deserve your honor. (message recommendation:
Even As Thy Soul Prospereth).
2. The Law of the Tithe: Leviticus 27:30 the tithe
is a mechanism to cater for the priesthood. Don’t stop tithing. Tithe is not
about money, it is called The law of open heavens. Malachi 3:7-10
A Storehouse is:
a. Your place of primary spiritual nourishment.
b. Any ministry committed to the salvation of souls
and the equipping of saints.
c . A minister or individual committed to the
salvation of souls and the equipping of saints.
7 Prophetic Blessings for the Tither
i. Open windows of heaven
ii. Pour out a blessing that you will not have room
enough for it: concepts, insights and ideas
iii. Rebuke the devourer
iv. Not destroy the fruit of your ground: ground is
anywhere you plant; business, work, life etc
v. Not cast your fruit before its time.
vi. Called blessed
vii. Delightsome land
3. The Law of Giving – Seed Time and Harvest: Luke
6:38, Gen. 8:22
Anything
you do not have, it’s because you have not sown the seed for it. There are seeds
and corresponding harvests. Honor is a seed for the harvest called access. Good
understanding is the seed for the harvest called favor. A question is a seed
for an answer. Giving and receiving is sowing and reaping. 2 Cor. 9:6-8
If
you do not engage giving and receiving in the Kingdom, there is a level you may
not go beyond.
Kinds
of Giving:
1. Worship Offering: Deut. 16:16
2. Kingdom Investments: Haggai 1:3-6 (first)
3. Seed Faith: every seed dies, and it will have
another body. You can use a seed to end a season in your life and commence another
in your life. (third)
4. Prophet’s Offering: never go to a genuine man of
God without a seed. (second)
5. Sowing to parents.
6. Firstfruits
7. Sacrifice and vows
The Three Return
Channels
1. Favor with God and with men: men willing to
participate in your lifting. Money comes either through favor or value. Psalm 44:3,
Esther 2:15, 17, Exodus 3:21
2. Wisdom: (five dimensions) – Divine Direction and
Divine Strategies. Job 32:8, 29:1-4 – Job’s secret of success. There is a
relationship between wisdom and wealth.
3. The Blessing: attracts people, opportunities,
and resources. Everybody is a giver, it just depends on what is on you.
The spiritual
laws of wealth and abundance are responsible for the arrival of financial
resources in your life and the physical laws are responsible for the management
of financial resources in your life. The physical laws help you to replenish.
