  1. So God paid back Abimelech for the evil he had done to his father when he killed his 70 brothers. God also paid back the men of Shechem for all their evil. So the curse of Jotham, son of Jerubbaal, came true.

  2. The Lord said to the people of Israel, “When the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines, the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites oppressed you, you cried out to me for help. Didn’t I rescue you from them? But you still abandoned me and served other gods. That’s why I won’t rescue you again. Cry out for help to the gods you chose. Let them rescue you when you’re in trouble.” The people of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned. Do to us whatever you think is right. But please rescue us today!” Then they got rid of the foreign gods they had and served the Lord. So the Lord could not bear to have Israel suffer any longer.
    Judges 10:11‭-‬16 GW

  4. As long as I have you, I don’t need anyone else in heaven or on earth. My body and mind may waste away, but God remains the foundation of my life and my inheritance forever. Without a doubt, those who are far from you will die. You destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
